What If I’m Sick, on Medication, Pregnant, or on My Period?Updated 2 months ago

Yes, you can still use your CircleDNA test kit under most common health conditions. The test collects DNA from cheek cells and saliva, and your DNA remains consistent regardless of any temporary health conditions elsewhere in the body.

If You’re Sick or Taking Medication

You can proceed with collecting your DNA sample even if you're feeling unwell (e.g., cold, flu) or taking medication. Your DNA remains the same, and medications or short-term illnesses do not affect the accuracy of your results.

We do recommend:

  • Avoiding sample collection if you have open sores, bleeding gums, or active mouth infections
  • Ensuring you don’t eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum for at least 30 minutes before collecting your sample

If You’re Pregnant or on Your Period

Yes, the test is safe and accurate for pregnant individuals and those who are menstruating. Hormonal changes from pregnancy or menstruation do not impact your DNA, so your results will still be accurate.

If you’re unsure about when to take the test or have specific medical concerns, feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]—we’re happy to help!
