At CircleDNA, our ancestry insights are based on autosomal DNA analysis. This method looks at DNA inherited from both your mother and father, giving a well-rounded view of your recent genetic ancestry across global populations.

It's important to note that our test does not include Y-DNA or mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) haplogroup analysis. These require different testing methods that focus specifically on the Y chromosome for paternal lineage and mtDNA for maternal lineage. These are not part of our current platform.

Rather than tracing direct maternal or paternal lines, our ancestry report offers a broader look at your genetic background using autosomal markers.
